Kompete Consulting (“Kompete”, “we”, “us”) is based in Bedford, Nova Scotia, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect through kompeteconsulting.com, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Information we collect
When you submit the project inquiry form, we collect the information you choose to provide: your name, company, email address, phone number, role, project stage, markets of interest, support required, a description of your project, and any document links you share. We do not collect payment information through this website.
When you visit the site, our hosting provider may record standard technical information such as browser type, pages visited and approximate location, to operate and secure the site and to understand how it is used. This information is not used to identify you.
How we use it
We use the information you submit to respond to your inquiry, assess whether and how we can help, prepare a proposal, and contact you about your project. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.
Confidential project information
Project details and documents shared with us are treated as confidential and used only to evaluate and deliver the work requested. Where an engagement proceeds, confidentiality terms are confirmed in writing as part of the engagement agreement.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us operate, such as our website host and email provider, and only as needed for those services. Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. We do not share your information with any other third party without your consent, unless required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry information for as long as needed to respond to you and manage any resulting engagement, and for any period required by law. Information from inquiries that do not proceed is deleted when it is no longer needed.
Your rights
You may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent to its use, subject to legal and contractual limits. To make a request, contact us using the details below. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you have concerns about how your information has been handled.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
